Sev Laser is Now Sev Skin as Brand Expands Beyond Hair Removal

Sev Laser rebrands to Sev Skin

Sev Laser is rebranding as Sev Skin, formalizing the medical spa chain's development from a laser hair removal-focused business to a broader aesthetics platform.

The move reflects ongoing evolution in the medical spa sector, where operators are increasingly expanding their avenues of aesthetic care rather than relying on a core category.

Laser hair removal remains a focus for the brand, though over time it has added other aesthetic services to its menu such as microneedling, laser facials, and injectables.

The rebrand comes as Sev Skin reports significant growth in services outside its original category. Non-laser-hair-removal revenue increased 163% year over year through August on a same-store basis, the company says.

During the same period, the brand's physical footprint grew 52% year over year to 76 locations across 15 states.

A multi-phase consumer research program informed the rebrand. According to Sev Skin, the data found consumers are increasingly seeking more personalized experiences from aesthetic providers, rather than interactions perceived as primarily clinical or transactional.

“The most meaningful part of our growth over the last 16 years has been the trust our clients have placed in us,” says Carrie Julier, the brand's CEO.

“They came to us for laser hair removal and, over time, trusted us with more of their aesthetic care. We want to keep earning that trust by growing with them. Our transition to Sev Skin gives us the opportunity to create more ways to care for our clients as their needs evolve.”
