Vagaro announced the launch of E-Prescribe, a new integration designed to modernize and simplify how medspas and other providers manage prescriptions. Developed in partnership with ScriptSure, the feature enables practitioners to electronically send prescriptions to any retail or mail-order pharmacy within the Surescripts network. “For many medspa providers, managing prescriptions has meant phone calls, paper forms, and administrative headaches,” says Fred Helou, CEO of Vagaro. “Medspas are offering more advanced services, but outdated prescription processes have slowed providers down. With E-Prescribe, providers can approve refills and send new prescriptions directly within the Vagaro platform. Digital prescriptions reduce the risk of misread handwriting or lost forms, and practitioners can review patient medication histories, check for potential drug interactions, and see insurance formulary details upfront. These safeguards help ensure accurate, cost-effective care for patients while improving efficiency for providers.
The feature integrates seamlessly into Vagaro’s all-in-one business management platform, allowing medspas to handle scheduling, records, billing, and prescriptions without switching between multiple systems. To meet DEA requirements for prescribing controlled substances, Vagaro has partnered with ID.me to verify provider identities and issue DEA-compliant credentials, ensuring every prescription is issued securely and in compliance with federal standards. “With the addition of E-Prescribe, Vagaro continues to expand its role as a trusted partner for beauty and wellness businesses,” says Helou. “By combining scheduling, payments, client management, and now prescriptions into one system, we’re helping medspas deliver exceptional care with confidence and efficiency.”
