The Club Industry Executive Summit concluded last week with 14 solo presentations and panels that shared insights from more than 50 speakers for the more than 200 fitness industry leaders in attendance at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel.
The event's theme was "Enhancing the Bottom Line: The Role of Technology, Operations and Compassionate Leadership." And the sessions all sought to generate more discussion on how to enhance the bottom line.
"We've always been known for the outstanding content we provide to leaders in the fitness industry, and this year's event went above that reputation with great topics selected by our advisory board and insightful speakers, some of whom are industry veterans and others of whom you don't hear at many other conferences — but should," said Club Industry Managing Director Marty McCallen.
The event kicked off on Oct. 17 with the CEO Summit, an invitation-only pre-event for owners and C-suite of the top revenue-generating club and studio brands in North America. That day concluded with a welcome reception for attendees to the full Executive Summit.
The Executive Summit opened on Oct. 18 with a breakfast and keynote from Health eVillages founder Donato Tramuto. It closed out prior to lunch on Oct. 19 with the closing keynote from Raj Sisodia, one of the founders of the Conscious Capitalism movement.
The afternoon of Oct. 19 was reserved for optional workshops: the Medical Fitness Forum (curated and run by the Medical Fitness Association) and the Not-for-Profit Workshop for YMCAs, JCCs and parks and rec facility leaders.
