Be+Well New York Classes:

From Doshas to Dollars: Ayurvedic Treatments That Sell

Sleepmaxxing: Science-Backed Strategies to Optimize Rest, Recovery & Results

What makes you passionate about your class topics?

I’m passionate about Ayurveda 101 and Sleep-Maxxing because both demonstrate that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does need to be personal. Ayurveda provides a timeless framework for understanding our unique mind–body rhythms, while sleep is the foundation that supports everything else. I love helping people reconnect with their natural cycles and realize that small, intentional changes can significantly improve how they feel, function, and live. The information I share in these sessions has greatly impacted my own wellbeing as well as my business. I feel compelled to share it.

If you could attend one class at Be+Well New York (besides yours), which would it be and why?

Choosing one is difficult. I plan to attend Toshiana Baker’s "The Neuro-Sensory Facial: Rewire the Nervous System & Rejuvenate the Skin" because rewiring the nervous system, in any capacity, is deeply healing, and it's fascinating to see how neural rewiring can be experienced through a facial treatment. I also want to go to Ella Cressman’s "Is your Back Bar Making You Money? Practical Strategies to Deliver More with Less". As a former national training director for a luxury brand, I understand how critical it is to optimize the back bar for both the guest experience and revenue.

What brands are you most interested in checking out on the Be+Well New York show floor?

I’m drawn to companies that prioritize sourcing, sustainability, and education. I seek brands that don’t just sell products but also empower people to better understand their bodies. I look forward to visiting Ayni Ayurveda since it’s a new brand to me. I always make a point to stop by Phytomer, as they consistently impress me with the clinical effectiveness and sustainability of their products.

What's a new skill or topic you want to learn/perfect this year?

In December, I completed a month-long Yoga Teacher Training at the Sivananda Ashram, and it was much more transformative than I expected. While yoga has been part of my personal practice for many decades—and Ayurveda, its sister science, has long informed my work—the immersive nature of the experience provided a depth of insight that surprised me. I no longer aim for or even use the word “perfect,” but this year, I intend to deepen my practice and integrate it more fully into my daily life, both personally and professionally.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My grandmother, my personal angel, used to tell me, ‘What is for you, cannot not be for you.’ It is a Jamaican adage she shared often, and it always reminded me that what is meant for me is already ordained, and that nothing, no matter the circumstances or appearances, can stand in the way of my good.

For readers who have never attended an industry trade show, what's the number-one reason they should attend?

An industry trade show puts you at the heart of the conversation. You’re not just observing it unfold online; you gain direct access to ideas, people, and innovations shaping the future of wellness. You leave with practical insights, feeling inspired and energized by the generosity of those willing to share their expertise.

Why should attendees take a conference class?

Conference classes provide something rare: focused learning in a high-energy, immersive setting. They enable attendees to slow down, ask deeper questions, and find clarity amid all the inspiration. A great class doesn’t just inform; it equips you with tools, perspective, and confidence to take the next step in your wellness journey.
