New Social Sports Complex Concept to Open in Philadelphia

Ballers, a new social sports complex concept, is set to launch at multiple locations across the U.S., starting with its flagship venue in Philadelphia slated to open in Q1 2025. It is conceptualized by Good City Studio and Vero Capital, the founders of Philadelphia’s renowned Fitler Club. Set within the historic Turbine Hall at The Battery in Fishtown, Philadelphia, Ballers aims to provide a hospitality-driven experience that celebrates the city's sports culture. Accessible to all, this venue will offer upscale amenities akin to exclusive members clubs, serving as a community hub for sports enthusiasts of every age and skill level, without the need for membership. “With our first Ballers location, we have the opportunity to create one of the most iconic sports facilities in the entire country,” says Good City Co-Founder Amanda Potter. “Not only will our design do justice to the incredible space of Turbine Hall, but the programming and vibe that is created at each Ballers location will be the driving force of the experience, encouraging our patrons to socialize and commune before, during and after play.”

Featuring the city’s first dedicated indoor pickleball and padel courts, along with an indoor golf center, a multipurpose turf playing field and squash courts, Ballers brings together traditional sports while leaning in to the exponential growth and interest in this new generation of racquet sports, which have been among the fastest growing sports in the United States according to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) Topline Participation Report. Ballers marries these sports with a destination-worthy hospitality offering which includes elevated F&B to complement the court, field & event spaces that can be rented out for both social and corporate use.

Housed inside The Battery's majestic Turbine Hall, featuring 70 feet ceilings and 45,000 square feet of unobstructed, column-free space, Ballers Philadelphia will debut with a racquet sports offering, inclusive of six championship-style pickleball courts, three premium padel courts, two squash courts and the ability to convert the pickleball area to an exhibition tennis court. On the first floor, patrons will also find a multipurpose 95 x 45 feet turf field, where soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and more can take place. Golf-lovers can also practice their swing without leaving the city, with four Golfzon simulators on the second floor of the complex. The golf area will also feature a full-sized contoured putting green with real sand bunkers, ideal for short-game practice.

Ballers will offer access to a luxury locker room experience for optimum recovery. In addition to private lockers and showers featuring high-end grooming products, guests will have access to infrared saunas, cold plunge tanks and compression therapy. While Ballers’ extensive offerings will be open to the public, supplementary memberships ranging from $95-$220 per month will offer incentives like wider booking windows for courts, discounts during both peak and off-peak hours, retail discounts, special events with partnering athletes and more.
