As fitness and wellness operators continue investing in upscale, hospitality-inspired equipment, Merrithew has introduced the NX3 MAX, the company's first wood Pilates reformer and its most premium model to date.

While the Pilates reformer category is well established with elevated wood offerings, the launch signals a broader trend reshaping spas, wellness clubs, hotels, and boutique fitness studios: that of equipment increasingly expected to function as both a performance tool and an interior design element.

The NX3 MAX underscores how manufacturers are responding to that demand by focusing less on reinventing the Pilates reformer itself and more on refining the user experience through visual appeal, comfort, and efficiency.

Crafted from FSC-certified maple, the NX3 MAX features a furniture-inspired aesthetic. Beyond appearance, Merrithew says the reformer incorporates several operational enhancements designed to streamline instructor workflows and improve user experiences.

Among the most notable additions is the company’s new EasyShift Gearbar, which lets instructors adjust resistance settings without removing springs, potentially reducing transition time between exercises and helping maintain class flow.

The reformer also features Merrithew's largest carriage platform to date, improving accessibility and comfort for a wider range of body types; extended rails to support a greater range of movement; and an eight-wheel rolling system engineered for a smoother and quieter ride.
